Copy of a video art work
313.33 m2 sobre pintura, Galerìa Salvador Dìaz. Madrid, 2005

The starting point of this work was, “Wolkenkratzer 12 x”, a video from the German artist Peter Roher (1944-1968). Scenes and sound were newly shot to achieve an exact copy of the original.
Small mobile models were built and painted by hand to recreate the buildings.
The music was recorded by professional musicians and the instruments are the same ones used in the original video.
And to finish, the graphics were redone and digital effects were applied to convert the images to b/n, to age the video and to conceive the sun reflection behind the buildings.
Josechu Dávila in his installation “exhibition for stupid people”, (1999) had already proposed other artists to recreate one of his work. In this art piece he paints a hyperrealist copy of somebody else’s work, as in the “Meninas”. This copy does not contain any element of the original work.
